| spa |

dc.description.abstractenglish | The wastewater generated in hospitals contains different toxic substances and pathogenic microorganisms; these dumping are categorized in Colombia according to the resolution of 0631 of 2015 as domestic wastewater, which is why it does not carry out adequate monitoring and control over this polluting load. In Ibagué, adequate sanitation of wastewater is not carried out, pouring more than 80% of these over surface water sources. The purpose of this research work is to determine the presence and concentration of pathogenic microorganisms, the rate of bacterial resistance to a group of antibiotics, and the level of biotoxicity possessed by the wastewater of Federico Lleras Acosta Hospital, as well as its impact on public health and water sources where they are discharged (Combeima River). To identify and characterize the pathogenic microorganisms, the method of frequency of microbiological isolation in selective media, biochemical tests, fluorescence and contrast with control strains was used, the bacterial resistance was evaluated by the method of Kirby Bauer, revealing high levels of biological toxicity, Average microbial concentrations between 1.97x10 ^ 5UFC / ml at 3.56x10 ^ 5UFC / ml in the case of E.Coli, and 2.12x10 ^ 5UFC / ml at 2.72x10 ^ 5UFC / ml in the case of P. Aeruginosa, strains of E.Coli and P. Aeruginosa with total bacterial resistance to Cefotaxime, Ciprofloxacin, Amoxicillin, Ceftriaxone, Trimethoprim, Penicillin, and Nalidixic Acid, significantly damaging the aquatic ecosystem of the Combeima River, altering population dynamics, the physiology of natural microbial populations and the flora and fauna that is part of this environment | spa |
