Description: The purpose of this paper is to apply the BPM methodology (Business Process Management), in the Metalworking SMEs of the city of Bogotá (Town of Fontibón), and propose good practices in achieving productivity through the ITIL method (Library of the Information Technology Infrastructure). Also the statistics of the Monthly Manufacturing Survey of DANE-Dec. 2018. (DANE, 2018) show that SMEs in the metalworking industry comparing the year 2018 with 2017 decreased their sales, their production, the staff employed in both the production area and the administrative and sales levels in very significant percentages, which They show low productivity and competitiveness. The implementation of the BPM will seek an integral vision of these SMEs through a management composed of methodologies and technologies, whose objective is to improve their performance with efficiency and effectiveness in the optimization of processes and resources. The Descriptive Research methodology was used. For the collection of the information, the Survey technique applied in primary sources to 35 SMEs was used according to a representative sample of the DANE (2018), having selected the ISIC2817 / 2819/2822 Groups, from the United Nations classification. Likewise, the use and implementation of the BPM and the ITIL method (Library of Information Technology Infrastructure) will lead to great improvements and benefits in the different processes of the organization.
Introducción: el propósito es aplicar la metodología BPM (Business Process Management), en las Pymes Metalmecánicas de la ciudad de Bogotá (Localidad de Fontibón), y proponer las buenas prácticas en el logro de la productividad a través del método ITIL (Biblioteca de la Infraestructura de Tecnologías de Información). La implementación del BPM, buscará una visión integral de estas Pymes mediante una gestión compuesta de metodologías y tecnologías, cuyo objetivo es mejorar su desempeño con eficiencia y eficacia en la optimización de los procesos y recursos. Metodología: la investigación es descriptiva.  Para la recopilación de la información se utilizó la técnica de la Encuesta aplicada en fuentes primarias a 35 Pymes según muestra representativa del DANE(2018),habiéndo seleccionado los Grupos CIIU2817/2819/2822 , de la clasificación de las Naciones Unidas. Resultados: En las Pymes Metalmecánicas de la ciudad de Bogotá (Localidad de Fontibón) se pudo evidenciar la existencia de procesos retrógrados y obsoletos, falta de capacitación del personal, la no implementación de nuevos procesos, la falta de adopción de buenas prácticas, lográndose grandes mejoras y beneficios en su proceso productivo mediante la utilización del BPM y el método ITIL (Biblioteca de la Infraestructura de Tecnologías de Información) en sus diferentes procesos de gestión, lo cual llevaría a un cambio en la cultura organizacional, haciéndose necesario la capacitación continua para el personal de la empresa en los diferentes niveles sobre los nuevos procesos y el uso de las herramientas TIC. Así mismo con la implementación del BPM y la metodología ITIL (Biblioteca de la Infraestructura de Tecnologías de Información) para la propuesta de buenas prácticas de productividad, puede traer grandes en todos los procesos de la organización empresarial donde estas herramientas puedan ser aplicadas.
