| Description: | Otto de Greiff (1903-1995) occupies an outstanding position in the Colombian musical panorama of the twentieth century. In a country where the musical education was practically non-existent and the music was perceived as a second-rate art, Otto de Greiff chose to change this perception among Colombians. Via the study of his Newspaper Columns, his writings and conferences about musical subjects and his courses in the radio, this article analyzes this dimension of his intellectual production and its contribution to the Colombian musical education. Otto de Greiff (1903-1995) ocupa un lugar importantísimo dentro del panorama musical de Colombia en el siglo XX. En un país donde la formación musical era casi inexistente y la música era en general percibida como un arte secundario, Otto de Greiff se propuso cambiar esta percepción entre los colombianos. A través del estudio de sus columnas en la prensa, de sus escritos y conferencias sobre música, y de sus cursos en la radio, el artículo analiza esta parte de su producción intelectual y su contribución a la formación y apreciación musical en Colombia. |
