dc.descriptionPsychology traces its evolution path from the creation of the first experimental laboratory at the end of the 19th century. This was a difficult attempt to detach itself from the mother of sciences, including going through numerous attempts to analyze and understand human behavior. However, in this search psychology has not managed to consolidate itself by way of comprehensive premises, but has promoted the development of different epistemological, theoretical, and methodological perspectives, starting from the definition of dissimilar objects of study. This situation maintains the debate within the psychological discipline, resulting in a perpetuation of the statement that there is no “psychology”, but a promotion of “psychologies” by a diversity of edges. Transpersonal psychology emerged at the end of the 20th century as result of this evolution, going through structuralism, functionalism, behaviorism, psychoanalysis, Gestalt psychology and other perspectives. It constituted an attempt to shape an integrative science capable of considering diverse perspectives to approach its targeted phenomena. Other authors advocate moving towards the term “psychological studies” which may include a wide range of studies and understanding of human activity and experience.    en-US
dc.descriptionEn su difícil intento por desprenderse de la madre de las ciencias, la psicología ha trazado un camino de evolución desde la creación del primer laboratorio experimental a finales del siglo XIX, pasando por numerosos ensayos para responder al análisis y la comprensión del comportamiento humano. No obstante, en esta búsqueda no ha logrado consolidarse con premisas abarcadoras, sino que ha promovido el desarrollo de distintas perspectivas epistemológicas, teóricas y metodológicas, partiendo de la definición de disímiles objetos de estudio, lo cual mantiene el debate al interior de sí y perpetúa la discusión de que no hay una “psicología”, sino que la diversidad de aristas fomenta “las psicologías”. En este devenir que pasa por el estructuralismo, el funcionalismo, el conductismo, el psicoanálisis, la psicología Gestalt, entre otros, surge la psicología transpersonal a finales del siglo XX, en un intento por dar cuerpo a una ciencia integrativa capaz de considerar diversas perspectivas de abordaje a los fenómenos que la ocupan. Otros autores abogan por el avance hacia el término de “estudios psicológicos” en el que pueda incluirse un amplio rango de estudios y comprensiones sobre la actividad y la experiencia humana.  es-ES
