| dc.description.abstract | La farmacovigilancia es la ciencia y el conjunto de actividades relacionadas con la evaluación y detección de eventos adversos por medicamentos. Es una herramienta que permite monitorear y controlar el uso de medicamentos, además de realizar las evaluaciones pertinentes para establecer los perfiles de seguridad de los medicamentos una vez comercializados. Colombia cuenta con un Programa Nacional de Farmacovigilancia, cuyo objetivo es realizar la vigilancia de los medicamentos luego de que estén siendo comercializados para determinar la seguridad de estos. Este programa está a cargo del Instituto Nacional de Vigilancia de Medicamentos y Alimentos ¬ INVIMA. El principal objetivo del Programa Nacional de Farmacovigilancia es realizar una vigilancia poscomercialización de los medicamentos para determinar su seguridad. | |

Colombia has a National Pharmacovigilance Program, the objective of which is to monitor drugs after they are being marketed to determine their safety. This program is run by the National Institute for Food and Drug Surveillance ¬ INVIMA.
