| dc.description.abstractenglish | The OMS defines "pharmacovigilance" as the science and activities related to the detection, evaluation, understanding and prevention of the adverse effects of medicines or any other problems related to them. World Health Organization. (2004). Through a process of pharmacovigilance, educates about the detection of an adverse event or problem related to the use of drugs during drug treatment, in which the health professional must take intervention measures to prevent adverse events such as: ADR (adverse drug reaction), PRUM (Problems Related to the use of Medications), and make a corresponding report to the surveillance and control entities. By implementing a pharmacovigilance plan in institutions, it makes it possible to improve the level of efficacy and safety offered by a drug during its use in pharmacological treatment.
