Description:	This article provides a historical reflection on the process of formation and consolidation of the chain of training in social communication of the ECSAH School of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, which during the last 25 years has been an interesting training opportunity for more than 1,200 students attracted by the idea of training in the field of communication, with an undergraduate and postgraduate commitment. In the case of the undergraduate program, it’s high quality has been recognized by the Ministry of National Education for 8 years. This compilation of historical actions commemorates the twenty-fifth anniversary of the UNAD Social Communication program, which becomes a window that has allowed us to assess the situation of communication field in Colombia and, consequently, has allowed us to continue to outline more training, research and intervention options to solve problems and needs in the close contexts of its students and graduates. It is worth noting that, in this path, the ECSAH has played a transcendental role, for it is the academic cradle of the commitment that the UNAD has made over 39 years in the field of human sciences. El presente artículo brinda una reflexión histórica sobre el proceso de conformación y consolidación de la cadena de formación en comunicación social de la Escuela de Ciencias Sociales Artes y Humanidades (ECSAH). Durante los último 25 años se ha constituido en una interesante oportunidad de formación para más de 1200 estudiantes atraídos por la idea de formarse en el campo de la comunicación, con una apuesta gradual y posgradual. En el caso del programa de pregrado es reconocido por el Ministerio de Educación Nacional como de alta calidad desde hace 8 años. Esta compilación de acciones históricas es conmemorativa del vigesimoquinto aniversario del programa de Comunicación Social de la UNAD, el cual se convierte en una ventana que ha permitido valorar la situación de la comunicación en Colombia y, en consecuencia, seguir perfilando mayores opciones de formación, investigación e intervención para la resolución de problemas y necesidades propias en los contextos próximos de sus estudiantes y egresados. Vale la pena resaltar que, en este camino, la ECSAH ha jugado un papel trascendental, teniendo en cuenta que es la cuna académica de la apuesta que la UNAD ha hecho a lo largo de 39 años en el campo de las ciencias humanas.
