Description:	Technological Management can be conceived as the meeting of vital production actions supported by knowledge and expertise, this interaction adds value to the products and determines the business differentiating factor. The objective of this article is to evaluate the level of technological management in which the metal-mechanic sector is found in the city of Duitama to propose management actions and strategies that project it competitively, the type of research used is non-experimental descriptive, with finite population sample of 131 companies, using proportional stratified sampling, taking Technology Management as a system as the main axis in this analysis, and as study categories the input variables to the system that, from operationalization, become evaluation criteria of the levels of technological management, which is found in the theoretical foundation; through a diagnostic analysis that allows determining the level of the current situation of the sector, which places it at level 2 medium-low, which means that the criteria involved in Technological management are not taken into account as a support for strategic actions of their organizations. reaching the conclusion that technology management becomes an organizational and sectoral challenge. La Gestión Tecnológica, se puede concebir como la reunión de las acciones de producción vitales   soportadas en el conocimiento y experticia, dicha interacción agrega valor a los productos y determinan el factor diferenciador empresarial. El presente artículo tiene como objetivo, evaluar el nivel de la gestión tecnológica en el que se encuentra el sector metalmecánico en la ciudad de Duitama para plantear acciones y estrategias de gestión que lo proyecten competitivamente, el tipo de investigación utilizada es descriptiva no experimental, con muestra de población finita de 131 empresas, utilizando muestreo estratificado proporcional,   tomando como eje principal en este análisis, la Gestión Tecnológica como sistema, y  como categorías de estudio las variables de  entrada al sistema que a partir de la operacionalización se convierten en criterios de evaluación de los niveles de la gestión tecnológica, que se encuentra en la fundamentación teórica; mediante un análisis diagnóstico que permite determinar el nivel de la situación actual del sector, que sitúa al mismo en el nivel 2 medio-bajo, que significa que los criterios que intervienen en la gestión Tecnológica no son tenidos en cuenta como soporte de acciones estratégicas de sus organizaciones. llegando a concluir que la gestión tecnológica se convierte en un desafío organizacional y sectorial.
