Description:	Drug use in Colombia is a polysemic problem in terms of causes and effects. The purpose of this research is to identify the psychosocial and political factors that affect the consumption of psychoactive substances in the youth population of the Alto del Yucal neighborhood of Santa Marta, this will allow us from the interdisciplinarity of the social and human sciences to establish a theoretical route- practice of orientation towards the prevention and mitigation of consumption, as well as the promotion of perspectives for the consolidation of a life project that strengthens the social fabric and mitigates violence in this sector of the city.     The research is of a mixed approach, whose instruments used are the written survey and the interview. The dynamic takes place in the Barrio Alto del Yucal de Santa Marta, through the targeting of a group of 25 young people, conducting a written survey anonymously and under their consent and will as a preliminary element of verification of their situation, and then implement the interview technique that will allow us to inquire about the influence of the proposed factors El consumo de droga en Colombia es una problemática polisémica en cuanto a causas y efectos. El propósito de esta investigación es identificar los factores psicosociales y políticos que inciden al consumo de sustancias psicoactivas en la población de jóvenes del barrio Alto del Yucal de Santa Marta, esto nos permitirá desde la interdisciplinariedad de las ciencias  sociales y humanas  establecer una ruta teórico-práctica de orientación frente a la prevención y mitigación del consumo, así como la promoción de perspectivas para la consolidación de un proyecto de vida que fortalezca el tejido social y mitigue la violencia en este sector de la ciudad.La investigación es de enfoque mixto, cuyos instrumentos utilizados son la encuesta escrita y la entrevista. La dinámica se desarrolla en el Barrio Alto del Yucal de Santa Marta, a través de la focalización de un grupo de 25 jóvenes, realizando una encuesta escrita de forma anónima y bajo su consentimiento y voluntad como elemento preliminar de verificación de su situación, para luego implementar la técnica de la entrevista que nos permitirá indagar sobre el influjo de los factores propuestos
