| dc.description.abstract | El cáncer de mama es un tipo de cáncer que se forma en las células de las mamas, las cuales crecen y se forman de manera anormal. El tumor suele invadir el tejido circundante y puede provocar metástasis en puntos distantes del organismo. Desafortunadamente el cáncer de mama es el más reportado en el departamento del Tolima, Las estadísticas de incidencia de cáncer de mama para el departamento es de 17,3 casos por cada 100.000 habitantes. Los factores que contribuyen a un mayor riesgo de desarrollar la enfermedad son la obesidad, consumo de alcohol, antecedentes genéticos, hormonales y exposición a radiación. La incidencia de esta enfermedad se puede reducir, mediante la investigación y el seguimiento los controles de intervención realizados a la comunidad a fin de prevenir y mejorar. | |

| dc.description.abstractenglish | Breast cancer continues to be a critical health problem that causes the highest number of deaths in Colombia. According to the most recent statistics for the year 2022, more than 400 cases of breast cancer have been registered in Tolima, an increase of 67% according to the cases diagnosed in 2021. Women in the department of Tolima, whether they are white, black or indigenous like the "Pijao" have the same possibilities of developing breast cancer. We can say that indigenous women, being people of low economic resources, are not able to make constant check-ups, which will make it difficult to treat the disease in time. Breast cancer prevention is the goal of policy makers, health professionals and patients. the monitoring of this pathology has succeeded in reducing the level of mortality through early detection and treatment, but according to data and specialists breast cancer prevention activities | |
