Description:	Currently worldwide, many nations are paying attention to improving and optimizing the use of recycled materials in the construction sector. Rising raw materials prices and increasing environmental awareness have become very important worldwide. In highway engineering or the construction of this type of mobility structures, waste materials are being used for the design and construction of pavements. Green, energy efficiency, cost effectiveness, and significantly reduced build time are the main drivers of this article. However, social and legal aspects have prevented this type of procedure from being implemented successfully in most developing countries. This article analyzes and describes the use of waste or recycled materials in the construction industry for the design and construction of rigid pavements. Actualmente a nivel mundial, muchas naciones están prestando atención a mejorar y optimizar el uso de materiales reciclados en el sector constructivo. El encarecimiento de las materias primas y el aumento de la conciencia ambiental han cobrado gran importancia a nivel mundial. En ingeniería de carreteras o la construcción de este tipo de estructuras de movilidad, se están utilizando materiales de desecho para el diseño y construcción de pavimentos. La ecología, la eficiencia energética, la rentabilidad y la reducción significativa del tiempo de construcción son los principales impulsores de este artículo. Sin embargo, aspectos sociales y de legislación han impedido que este tipo de procedimientos se implanten con éxito en la mayoría de los países en desarrollo. En el presente artículo se analizan y se describirá el aprovechamiento de materiales de desecho o reciclados en la industria de la construcción para el diseño y construcción de pavimentos rígidos.
