Description:	El propósito del artículo es presentar algunos avances obtenidos de la investigación “Tras las huellas de nuestros ancestros” en el municipio de Floresta, partiendo de una observación teórica histórica, dónde se resaltan brevemente los diferentes acontecimientos históricos del municipio de Floresta desde el génesis de la vida hasta nuestros días; los métodos de investigación en campo a partir del modelo de investigación etnográfica y resultados de la investigación con la implementación de los instrumentos de recolección de información como la observación documental, la observación participante y la entrevista estructurada, que soportan el objetivo de la iniciativa investigativa, la cual se enfoca en conservar y divulgar el patrimonio cultural y ecosistémica del municipio de Floresta para la generación de desarrollo económico. The purpose of the article is to present some advances obtained from the investigation “In the footsteps of our ancestors” in themunicipality of Floresta, based on a historical theoretical observation, where the different historical events of the municipality of Floresta are briefly highlighted since the genesis of the life to this day; the research methods in the field based on the ethnographic research model and the results of the research with the implementation of information collection instruments such as documentaryobservation, participant observation and the structured interview, which support the objective of the research initiative, in which itfocuses on conserving and disseminating the cultural and ecosystemic heritage of the municipality of Floresta for the generationof economic development.
