dc.description.abstractDebido a la importancia de la autosuficiencia alimentaria, se pretende identificar mediante sistemas de información geográfica con datos abiertos disponibles en internet como fuente primaria, la viabilidad del cultivo de malanga (Colocasia esculenta) en el municipio de Santa Marta del departamento del Magdalena, Colombia. Se realizan los geoprocesos usando el software ArcGIS Pro de esri para determinar áreas sin y con restricciones, importando las capas de interés ambiental y técnicas. También se tiene en cuenta las propiedades del suelo y clima para el cultivo en cuestión, identificando el área con clasificación de aptitud agrícola para su desarrollo.

dc.description.abstractenglishDue to the importance of food self-sufficiency, it is intended to identify, through geographic information systems with open data available on the Internet as a primary source, the viability of taro cultivation (Colocasia esculenta) in the municipality of Santa Marta in the department of Magdalena, Colombia. Geoprocesses are carried out using esri's ArcGIS Pro software to determine areas with and without restrictions, importing layers of environmental and techniques interest. The properties of the soil and climate for the crop in question are also considered, identifying the area with a classification of agricultural suitability for its development.
