Se comprende la esteatosis hepática como causa o consecuencia del síndrome metabólico que promueve la resistencia a la insulina y el riesgo a padecer diabetes tipo 2. Del mismo modo, abarca a las personas con diabetes, principalmente a las que son tratadas con insulina o medicamentos hipoglucemiantes.	es
dc.description	A short and updated review was conducted that comprehensively addresses the relationship between metabolic syndrome, hepatic steatosis, diabetes, and hypoglycaemia, highlighting their pathophysiology. Liver steatosis is understood as a cause or consequence of the metabolic syndrome that promotes insulin resistance and risk for type 2 diabetes. Similarly, it covers people with diabetes, mainly those treated with insulin or hypoglycaemic drugs.	en
