| dc.description.abstract | La investigación aborda el impacto de las estrategias de farmacovigilancia en la reducción de problemas relacionados con medicamentos (PRM) en Colombia. Utilizando un enfoque cualitativo y un diseño de análisis de contenido, se examinan las prácticas, normativas y desafíos que enfrentan las instituciones de salud en el manejo de PRM. Los hallazgos revelan que, aunque existen avances significativos en normativas y tecnologías (como VigiFlow), persisten desafíos relacionados con la cultura de reporte, integración tecnológica y capacitación del personal. Estos obstáculos limitan la efectividad de los sistemas de farmacovigilancia y resaltan la necesidad de un enfoque integral que incluya formación continua y fortalecimiento institucional. El estudio concluye que una farmacovigilancia más robusta puede mejorar la seguridad del paciente, reducir costos y optimizar los recursos del sistema de salud colombiano. | |

| dc.description.abstractenglish | This research examines the impact of pharmacovigilance strategies on reducing medication-related problems (MRP) in Colombia. Using a qualitative approach and content analysis design, it explores the practices, regulations, and challenges faced by healthcare institutions in managing MRPs. The findings reveal that, despite significant advances in regulations and technology (such as VigiFlow), challenges remain related to reporting culture, technological integration, and staff training. These obstacles limit the effectiveness of pharmacovigilance systems and underscore the need for a comprehensive approach that includes ongoing training and institutional strengthening. The study concludes that a more robust pharmacovigilance system can improve patient safety, reduce costs, and optimize the resources of the Colombian healthcare system. | |
