Description:	This paper aims to develop a philosophical interpretation of DistanceEducation (DE), a large task in which this paper just tries to be acornerstone of the building. Philosophical reflection is put into technicsand the state of the art on the subject is quite extensive, because thereare some authors who have considered this technology as a phenomenonthat has changed social, intellectual, and cultural paradigms. Among themM. Heidegger, H. Gadamer, M. Foucault stand out, but the topic relatesparticularly to M. McLuhan, G. Simondon, P. Lévy, N. Negroponte, M.Castells, P. Virilio, P. Virno and D. Kerckhove, among others, as the range is wide despite being a recent phenomenon. Technological advances have led and gestated a number of benefits for mankind. One of these has been the progress in the educational virtual-digital field, with distance education as its best. DE is not a recent phenomenon: some say that epistolary exchange between tutor and student already happened many centuries ago. It is enough to simply say that the phenomenon is now broad for research. The approach of this paper is confined to technology, with no means to develop a philosophical wisdom about technics. It is a sketch of what could be a future research project. El presente artículo pretende realizar una interpretación filosófica de la Educación a Distancia (EAD), vasta tarea de la que éste es apenas una primera piedra del edificio. La reflexión filosófica está puesta en la técnica, y el estado del arte sobre el particular es bastante amplio porque hay diversos autores que han reflexionado sobre la tecnología como fenómeno que ha modificado paradigmas sociales, intelectuales, culturales, etc. Entre ellos tenemos a M. Heidegger, H. Gadamer, M. Foucault, pero de manera puntual están M. McLuhan, G. Simondon, P. Lévy, N. Negroponte, M. Castells, P. Virilio, P. Virno y D. Kerckhove, entre otros. Los avances tecnológicos han propiciado y gestado un sinnúmero de beneficios para la humanidad, uno de los cuales ha sido el avance en el campo educativo virtual-digital, con la educación a distancia como su máxima expresión. La EAD no es un fenómeno aparecido recientemente: hay quienes afirman que los intercambios epistolares entre tutor y estudiante ya se daban muchos siglos atrás. Baste simplemente decir que el fenómeno es, por ahora, amplio en la indagación a realizar y que el abordaje de este escrito se delimita en lo tecnológico, con mirada filosófica que no significa sabiduría acerca de lo técnico. Se trata de un boceto de lo que pueda ser un futuro proyecto de investigación.
