Description:	This paper evaluates the process of the Andean Community of Nations (CAN) during the ten years between 2000-2010, and describes possible scenarios in 2020. It is assumed that the CAN does not have to consolidate the political status, being the crossroads of conflicting national socio-political projects. We review, from a systemic and structural background and the most significant events of the period, to identify the course of the alleged incidents, together with statistical illustrations. CAN was found to have not been able to establish itself as a regional project achieving its objectives, and concludes that the most desirable scenario is to join the Mercosur. En este trabajo se evalúa el proceso de la Comunidad Andina de Naciones (CAN) durante diez años comprendidos entre 2000-2010, y se describen los posibles escenarios en el año 2020. Se analiza como la CAN no ha podido consolidar su estatus político, permaneciendo en la encrucijada de conflictos socio-políticos nacionales. Se revisan, de forma estructural y sistémica, los acontecimientos más significativos de la época, para identificar el curso de los hechos, junto con ilustraciones estadísticas.Se encontró que la CAN no han podido establecerse como un proyecto regional para alcanzar sus objetivos y se concluye que el escenario más deseable es el de unirse a Mercosur
