Description:	This document presents reflections on the current role of the arts in the digital age, focusing on two dimensions of art as a communication medium, art in its role as a social transformer in times of the global pandemic. This work is the result of the theoretical analysis of a research project of the group of researchers investigated steps of freedom and the university footprints seedbed of Neiva, as well as of the experiences from which research with social projection, action research, formative research, and from artistic pedagogies with vulnerable communities. El presente documento expone las reflexiones sobre el papel actual de las artes en la era digital, enfocando la mirada en dos dimensiones del arte como medio comunicativo, el arte en su rol como trasformador social en tiempos de la pandemia global. Este trabajo es resultado del análisis teórico de un proyecto de investigación del grupo de investigaron pasos de libertad y el semillero huellas universitarias de Neiva, como de las experiencias desde donde se han desarrollado investigaciones con proyección social, la investigación acción, la investigación formativa, y desde pedagogías artísticas con comunidades en vulnerabilidad.
