Description:	This document carries out a theoretical and empirical review of the hypothesis of the Kuznets curve for the Department of Tolima, according to the theory there is an empirical relationship between inequality and economic growth, in this sense the following writing explains the theory and performs a contrast of the Kuznets hypothesis for the Department of Tolima.In the first place, the theoretical framework and the state of the art of the phenomenon under study are presented, secondly, the data used is presented, and, finally, the hypothesis is verified in the regional context for Tolima. El presente documento realiza una revisión teórica y empírica de la hipótesis de la curva de Kuznets para el Departamento del Tolima, de acuerdo a la teoría existe una relación empírica entre la desigualdad y el crecimiento económico, en este sentido el siguiente escrito explica la teoría y realiza una contrastación de la hipótesis de Kuznets para el Departamento del Tolima.En primer lugar, se presenta el marco teórico y el estado del arte del fenómeno en estudio, en segundo lugar, se presenta los datos utilizados, y, finalmente, se comprueba la hipótesis en el contexto regional para el Tolima.
