Description:	El proceso administrativo sigue estando vigente en la planeación estratégica de las organizaciones. Para Henry Fayol, quien fuera el primer autor que proponía un enfoque integral para administrar una organización, la gestión se debía realizar a través de una serie de elementos clave como lo eran la planeación, organización, dirección y control que toda empresa. Con el tiempo se han venido analizando las etapas del proceso en diferentes ámbitos, tanto académicos como empresariales. Los autores han llegado a concluir que las etapas del proceso administrativo siguen estando vigentes, aunque con variaciones en conceptos más actuales como la motivación y la capacidad de guiar a través de un liderazgo participativo. En este trabajo principalmente se realizará una caracterización del proceso administrativo y su evolución, desde las etapas primordiales. Dentro de la descripción de estas etapas se encuentran factores clave para la implementación en diferentes ámbitos organizacionales y su evolución con el paso de los años. The administrative process is still in force in the strategic planning of organizations. For Henry Fayol, who was the first author to propose a comprehensive approach to managing an organization, management should be carried out through a series of key elements such as planning, organization, direction and control that every company should apply. Over time, the stages of the process have been analyzed in different academic and business areas. The authors have concluded that the stages of the administrative process are still in force, although with variations in more current concepts such as motivation and the ability to guide through participative leadership. This paper will mainly characterize the administrative process and its evolution, from the primary stages. Within the description of these stages, there are key factors for implementation in different organizational areas and its evolution over the years
