Description:	Este artículo aborda el reto de la contaminación ambiental mediante la integración de la historia ambiental y la biotecnología. Se analizan tres estudios: la transformación de la Cuenca Media-Alta del Río Atrato, los efectos de la pandemia en la concentración de material particulado y la aplicación de modelos matemáticos para la biorreducción de Cr(VI) utilizando consorcios bacterianos. La propuesta destaca cómo la comprensión del pasado y la innovación tecnológica pueden converger para diseñar estrategias de remediación sostenibles.(1-24). This article addresses the challenge of environmental contamination by integrating environmental history and biotechnology. Three studies are analyzed: the transformation of the Middle-Upper Atrato River Basin, the effects of the pandemic on the concentration of particulate matter, and the application of mathematical models for the bioreduction of Cr(VI) using bacterial consortia. The proposal highlights how understanding of the past and technological innovation can converge to design sustainable remediation strategies.(1-24).
