En este campo se usan los rayos x convencionales (RX), tomografía computarizada (TC), ecografía (Eco) y resonancia magnética (RM). Gracias a estas técnicas utilizadas en la virtopsia ayudan a los médicos legistas a evaluar obteniendo resultados rápidos y precisos en dichas investigaciones determinando las causas de muerte.
