| dc.description.abstract | En la actualidad los residuos sólidos generados por diferentes actividades y procesos (Industrial, Comercial, Residencial), se disponen en una celda transitoria, donde no se tiene en cuenta el posible impacto que estos generan al medio ambiente, el manejo que se debe tener y desconociendo un posible aprovechamiento. Descrito lo anterior y con clara evidencia de los inconvenientes ambientales que se presentan, se requiere la creación de programas que conlleven a la implementación de buenas prácticas para el manejo, aprovechamiento y disposición final de residuos sólidos, minimizando los impactos que actualmente se generan.
Los habitantes del municipio de Chaparral han tenido poco acceso o formación en educación ambiental, lo que ha llevado a que la comunidad no tenga claro los conceptos de clasificación de residuos sólidos, aprovechamiento de estos y los efectos nocivos que se generan sobre la atmosfera, ecosistema y sobre los seres vivos que los componen, al tener un manejo inadecuado de estos. Con estos antecedentes y al observar la poca información que se maneja por parte de los entes territoriales, ha hecho más difícil la implementación adecuada de programas de educación ambiental con las comunidades del municipio.
Una solución viable al problema que afronta Chaparral es la creación de conciencia ciudadana respecto al manejo de sus residuos sólidos. Por lo tanto, el presente diseño, plantea la implementación de una estrategia de educación ambiental en el manejo de residuos sólidos basado en la cultura de las 3Rs en el barrio José María Melo en el municipio de Chaparral Tolima. Brindando un manejo de gestión eficiente y eficaz de residuos sólidos domésticos, procurando la minimización en su producción, es decir reducir su cantidad; promoviendo su reutilización y reciclaje.
Al igual que involucrar las entidades gubernamentales y locales para que se trabaje en equipo en pro del desarrollo sostenible y sustentable en la región y porque no llegar a ser ejemplo a seguir ya que es una problemática que afecta el planeta entero. | spa |

Having described the above and with clear evidence of the environmental problems that arise, it is necessary to create programs that lead to the implementation of good practices for the management, use and final disposal of solid waste, minimizing the impacts that are currently generated.
The inhabitants of the municipality of Chaparral have had little access or training in environmental education, which has led to the community not being clear about the concepts of classification of solid waste, use of these and the harmful effects that are generated on the atmosphere, ecosystem and about the living beings that compose them, by having an inadequate handling of these. With these antecedents and when observing the little information that is handled by the territorial entities, it has made more difficult the adequate implementation of environmental education programs with the communities of the municipality.
A viable solution to the problem faced by Chaparral is the creation of citizen awareness regarding the management of solid waste. Therefore, the present design proposes the implementation of an environmental education strategy in solid waste management based on the culture of the 3Rs in the José María Melo neighborhood in the municipality of Chaparral Tolima. Providing management of efficient and effective management of solid domestic waste, trying to minimize its production, ie reduce its quantity; promoting its reuse and recycling.
As well as involving government and local entities to work as a team for sustainable and sustainable development in the region and not to become an example to follow since it is a problem that affects the entire planet.
