| Description: | An analysis was made on the role of science and technology in relation to development issues, advocating the need for scientific and technological work to be justified in its ability to contribute to the welfare of rural communities and marginal urban areas. The need to redefine the concepts of science, technology and research in the context of community development was found as well as the urgency of great changes in the educational system, for which the approaches to education for marginalized sectors of Colombian society were referenced, approaches the Foundation for the Application and Teaching of Science (FUNDAEC) has been developing during more than 35 years of experience Se analizó el papel de la ciencia y la tecnología en relación con los problemas del desarrollo, abogando por la necesidad de que el trabajo científico y tecnológico esté justificado en su capacidad para contribuir al bienestar de las comunidades rurales y urbano-marginales. Se encontró la necesidad de redefinir los conceptos de ciencia, tecnología e investigación en el contexto del desarrollo comunitario y la urgencia de realizar cambios profundos en el sistema educativo, para lo cual se referencian los planteamientos sobre educación de los sectores más marginados de la sociedad colombiana, desarrollados por la Fundación para la aplicación y enseñanza de las ciencias -Fundaec- en sus más de 35 años de experiencia. |
