| dc.description.abstract | La promoción del uso racional de antibióticos en la comunidad es crucial para combatir la resistencia bacteriana y mejorar la salud pública. Existen algunos puntos importantes y estratégicos para la promoción sobre el uso racional de antibióticos, entre estos encontramos: Informar a la comunidad sobre los riesgos del uso inapropiado de antibióticos y la importancia de seguir las indicaciones médicas, formar a médicos, enfermeras y farmacéuticos sobre el uso racional de antibióticos y las mejores prácticas para prescribirlos. Adicional es importante implementar programas en escuelas y comunidades para enseñar sobre el uso adecuado de antibióticos y la prevención de infecciones. Al promover el uso adecuado de antibióticos, se reduce la aparición de bacterias resistentes, lo que mejora la efectividad de los tratamientos. Los pacientes reciben tratamientos más efectivos y con menos efectos secundarios, lo que lleva a mejores resultados de salud. El uso racional de antibióticos reduce los costos asociados con tratamientos innecesarios y complicaciones derivadas de infecciones resistentes (OPS/OMS, 2021). Prevención de Infecciones: La educación sobre la prevención de infecciones ayuda a reducir la necesidad de antibióticos, promoviendo hábitos de higiene y salud. Estas estrategias educativas son esenciales para garantizar que los antibióticos sigan siendo herramientas efectivas en el tratamiento de infecciones y para proteger la salud pública a largo plazo. | |

There are some important and strategic points for the promotion of the rational use of antibiotics, among these we find: Inform the community about the risks of inappropriate use of antibiotics and the importance of following medical indications, train doctors, nurses and pharmacists on the Rational use of antibiotics and best practices for prescribing them. Additionally, it is important to implement programs in schools and communities to teach about the proper use of antibiotics and infection prevention. By promoting the appropriate use of antibiotics, the emergence of resistant bacteria is reduced, which improves the effectiveness of treatments. Patients receive more effective treatments with fewer side effects, leading to better health outcomes. Rational use of antibiotics reduces costs associated with unnecessary treatments and complications resulting from resistant infections (OPS/OMS, 2021). Infection Prevention: Education about infection prevention helps reduce the need for antibiotics, promoting hygiene and health habits. These educational strategies are essential to ensure that antibiotics remain effective tools in the treatment of infections and to protect public health in the long term. | |
