dc.description.abstractEste artículo presenta el desarrollo de la Temática 2 correspondiente a la Etapa 7 del Diplomado en Sistemas Operativos. El trabajo se centró en la verificación del funcionamiento del mecanismo de traducción de direcciones (NAT) dentro del firewall Endian, con el propósito de permitir la salida a la WAN desde dos segmentos internos: la zona LAN y la zona DMZ. Para ello se realizaron pruebas de conectividad, revisión de interfaces de red y confirmación de las reglas internas de enmascaramiento mediante comandos de consola. Los resultados obtenidos demostraron que Endian gestiona adecuadamente el tráfico entre zonas, garantizando seguridad perimetral y control del flujo de datos. El proceso permitió evidenciar de forma práctica el funcionamiento del NAT dentro de un entorno real de firewall.

dc.description.abstractenglishThis article presents the development of Topic 2, corresponding to Stage 7 of the Diploma in Operating Systems. The work focused on verifying the functionality of the Network Address Translation (NAT) mechanism within the Endian firewall, with the purpose of allowing WAN access from two internal segments: the LAN zone and the DMZ zone. To this end, connectivity tests were performed, network interfaces were reviewed, and internal masking rules were confirmed using console commands. The results obtained demonstrated that Endian adequately manages traffic between zones, guaranteeing perimeter security and data flow control. The process provided practical evidence of NAT operation within a real firewall environment.
