| dc.description.abstract | La presente monografía analizará el aporte económico de la población migrante venezolana en el
municipio de Arauca en el periodo 2019-2024. Su objetivo comprende tres dimensiones básicas,
como lo son la participación laboral de la población migrante, tanto en el empleo formal como
informal, la fundación de empresas formales y empresariales de origen popular, y la percepción
institucional respecto a la misma.
Los hallazgos que se presentan demuestran cómo, a pesar de los múltiples obstáculos
estructurales, como la informalidad y la falta de documentación o incluso el acceso limitado al
sistema financiero, la población migrante ha logrado crear una dinámica económica a través del
autoempleo, el comercio minorista y de servicios. Resulta oportuno señalar que la aplicación del
Permiso por Protección Temporal (PPT) se ha convertido en un mecanismo crucial para acceder
al empleo formal y formalizar las empresas. Sin embargo, siguen existiendo desafíos en lo que
atañe a la estabilidad laboral, la inclusión social y el acceso a derechos económicos.
Esta investigación ayuda a entender el aporte de la migración en la economía del municipio de
Arauca, lo cual incita a reconsiderar su función desde un enfoque de crecimiento económico
inclusivo y sostenible.

| dc.description.abstractenglish | This monograph will analyze the economic contribution of the Venezuelan migrant population in
the municipality of Arauca in the period 2019-2024. Its objective is focused on three basic
dimensions, such as the labor participation of the migrant population, both in formal and
informal employment, the founding of businesses, formal and entrepreneurial of popular origin,
and the institutional perception of the same.
The findings presented demonstrate how, despite multiple structural obstacles, such as
informality and lack of documentation, and even limited access to the financial system, the
migrant population has managed to generate an economic dynamic through self-employment and
retail and service commerce. The application of the PPT has become a crucial mechanism for
access to formal employment and business formalization. However, challenges remain in terms
of job stability, social inclusion and access to economic rights.
This research helps to understand the true impact of migration on the economy of the
municipality of Arauca, prompting a reconsideration of its role from a perspective of inclusive
and sustainable economic growth.
