dc.description.abstract	Las exportaciones de la industria metalmecánica colombiana pasaron de ser en el año 2000 de 806 millones de dólares, a 2.036 millones de dólares en el 2010; un gran crecimiento que marca los esfuerzos realizados en este tema por las empresas y demás actores participantes del sector. Dentro de las exportaciones las industrias básicas de hierro y acero tienen la mayor participación, la cual asciende al 27% del total de las ventas del sector a mercados foráneos. Entre las muchas iniciativas y actividades que demuestran el esfuerzo de los actores del sector siderúrgico y metalmecánico por fortalecer a la industria, se encuentra la participación e interés de estos en el régimen de zonas francas; ejemplo de ello es la zona franca permanente especial Acerías Paz del Río. “Colombia tiene un consumo per cápita de 69 kilos de acero, pero países como México están por encima de los 100 kilos y Japón, por los 700, lo que nos lleva a pensar que hay aún mucho mercado por explorar”, comentó Manuel Lesmes Patiño, director ejecutivo de la cámara Fedemetal de la ANDI.	spa

The increase in the processes of globalization and internationalization of the economy requires that the Colombian logistic systems be oriented towards reaching levels of the leading companies worldwide, while it is with them, ultimately, with whom they must compete. The Referential Model of Logistics, is the objective representation of Logistics that hypothetically applies in a SCM. This model consists of 13 elements, which are described below: concept on logistics, logistics organization, handling technology, storage technology, internal transport technology, external transport technology, communications technology, software technology, human talent, integration of the SCM, logistical barriers, reverse logistics, and measurement of logistics performance. The knowledge of the level of compliance of each of the elements of the model and the model in general serves to build a broad and clear knowledge about logistics, to diagnose the logistics system, to formulate logistics strategies, to formulate training and logistics training plans , and in general to make decisions aimed at improving the competitiveness of companies.	spa
