dc.description	This work includes various biopolymers used in the production of food packaging such as: polysaccharides, proteins, lipids, etc. It begins with the definition and classification of polymers with a special emphasis on the process of degradation of these as an alternative solution to the environmental problem caused by the indiscriminate use of plastics. It also sets out the different types of biopolymers used in the production of containers are given on the advantages and disadvantages of such materials, as well as some trends and innovations in the use of biopolymers.	en-US
dc.description	En este trabajo se incluyen los diversos biopolímeros usados en la elaboración de envases para alimentos como son: polisacáridos, proteínas, lípidos, etc. Se comienza con la definición y clasificación de los polímeros y se hace especial énfasis en el proceso de degradación de los mismos como una alternativa de solución al problema ambiental causado por el uso indiscriminado de los plásticos.También se establecen los diversos tipos de biopolímeros usados en la elaboración de envases y se dan a conocer las ventajas y desventajas de este tipo de materiales, como también algunas tendencias e innovaciones en su uso.	es-ES
