| spa |

dc.description.abstractenglish | Starting from the principle that any drug has the potential to trigger adverse events, even those involving a long process of development, research and manufacturing under rigorous quality conditions; Pharmacovigilance aims to improve the protection of the health and safety of patients, by reducing and controlling the risk of drug use. The role of the pharmacist is key to patient safety. As the healthcare professional specializing in medication, her activity focuses on the rational use of medications and her mission is to guarantee the safe, effective and efficient use of medications. According to what has been described above, it can then be said that pharmacists must be used more effectively in the system, they must participate directly in reporting adverse drug reactions using information systems to improve their performance. To achieve this goal, regulatory bodies must make legislation to encourage pharmacists to actively participate in the system. The pharmacy manager has among its functions to make pharmacovigilance well carried out since it depends on providing relevant information within them is the Format for reporting suspected adverse drug events (FOREAM) where the identification, evaluation is supported and prevention of possible risks in the use of any medication, although studies reveal that notifications are very low by patients, among the most common causes are lack of confidence, ignorance, among others, and this is where the pharmacist should guide the patient well so that the information is useful and specific within pharmacovigilance. | spa |
