La pandemia ocasionada por el COVID-19 ha generado estragos de grandes proporciones que implican destrucción física, económica, social y moral, ha puesto contra la pared a grandes naciones y un retiemble en derechos no escritos como es el derecho humano de acompañar a un ser querido o un familiar a no lidiar con la muerte en soledad, en sí nos ha recordado la finitud del ser humano. El siguiente artículo es el resultado de analizar el estado actual del derecho humano a decir adiós para determinar las acciones de responsabilidad social mínimas a seguir con las personas en estados críticos que se van y con los familiares que se quedan. Se han identificado prácticas y procedimientos de inhumación en México desde el momento de su fallecimiento hasta la entrega del cuerpo y velación. Una reflexión sobre está situación contribuye a reconocer el derecho a decir adiós y proponer que pacientes críticos puedan despedirse de sus familiares en este impasse entre la vida y la muerte, evitando con ello que el duelo de los que se quedan se complique en afectaciones a su salud física, psíquica y mental y poder despedir con dignidad al que se va. Para esto, se requiere propiciar el acompañamiento a los que ahora se van y ponderar este derecho humano no validado aún, a decir adiós.The COVID-19 pandemic has caused devastation of great proportions that implies physical, economic, social and moral destruction, it has put great nations against the wall and a tremor in unwritten rights such as the human right to accompany a loved one or a familiar to not dealing with death alone, in itself it has reminded us of the finitude of the human being. The following article is the result of analyzing the current state of the human right to say goodbye to determine the minimum social responsibility actions to deal with people in critical states, who leave and with family members who remain. Burial practices and procedures have been identified in Mexico from the moment of death to delivery of the body and care. A reflection on this situation contributes to recognizing the right to say goodbye and to propose that critical patients with COVID-19 can say goodbye to their relatives in this impasse between life and death, thereby avoiding that the mourning of those who remain will be complicated in their physical, psychic and mental health and they be able to say goodbye to those who are leaving with dignity, it is necessary to promote the accompaniment of those who are now leaving and to ponder this human right not yet validated to say goodbye.
