| dc.description.abstract | La desnutrición infantil en La Guajira es un problema grave que afecta a los niños y niñas menores de cinco años. Según los informes, el 62% de los niños y niñas de cero a cinco años padecen de desnutrición crónica y de los cuales alrededor del 28% terminan en muerte por desnutrición, lo que significa que no reciben una nutrición adecuada para su crecimiento y desarrollo.

La falta de acceso a alimentos nutritivos, la pobreza, la falta de educación sobre nutrición y la escasez de agua potable son algunas de las principales causas de la desnutrición en esta región. La desnutrición crónica puede tener consecuencias graves en la salud de los niños, incluyendo retraso en el crecimiento y desarrollo cognitivo, debilidad inmunológica, entre otros problemas de salud. Es necesario tomar medidas urgentes para abordar este problema y mejorar la calidad de vida de los niños y niñas en La Guajira.

Lack of access to nutritious food, poverty, lack of nutrition education, and scarcity of drinking water are some of the main causes of malnutrition in this region. Chronic malnutrition can have serious consequences on the health of children, including delayed growth and cognitive development, immune weakness, among other health problems. It is necessary to take urgent measures to address this problem and improve the quality of life of children in La Guajira.
It is for the above reason that we have generated a health communication strategy that has a positive impact on the mitigation of malnutrition and hunger in La Guajira, which is promoted through radio communication media and through promotion and prevention programs with the affected communities and the target population, as well as the actors involved in the strategy. Communication tools are used that are within the reach of the indigenous communities, such as the community radio stations of the ragios (through a radio spot) and the articulation with the leaders of the indigenous communities where the target population is located. and affected by this problem of malnutrition and hunger. The strategy generated is based on the health communication model "PRECEDE"
