| dc.description.abstract | En el desarrollo de este proyecto se realizó una investigación en la ESE Hospital Sagrado
Corazón de Jesús ubicada en el municipio Valle del Guamuez la Hormiga, Departamento del
Putumayo, con el objetivo de identificar que pacientes con VIH abandonaron el tratamiento
antirretroviral. En la actualidad se determinó que la población afectada son 6 pacientes entre 17 y
27 años, uno de los pacientes de sexo femenino y demás masculinos, los cuales se ven afectados
por diferentes causas de abandono al TAR como lo es la discriminación, efectos secundarios,
falta de apoyo familiar, entre otros, lo cual los ha llevado al abandono del tratamiento. Con esta
investigación buscamos demostrar que más allá de los efectos secundarios que puede provocar el
tratamiento antirretroviral, también la estigmatización, falta de apoyo familiar y social, estos son
de causa mayor al momento de que los pacientes decidan abandonar el tratamiento, debido a que
estos generan varios síntomas que afectan no solo su estado de salud, sino físico y mental, lo cual
en la actualidad presenta un alto índice de consecuencias negativas como lo es la depresión,
ansiedad, trastornos alimenticios y en casos mayores el suicidio. Es por esto que se utilizó
técnicas de recolección de datos, como lo es la encuesta para obtener datos precisos, con la cual
se llegó a los factores exactos que llevan a los pacientes a tomar esta decisión. Con el cual se
busca implementar estrategias educativas que permita informar de manera más precisa tanto a los
pacientes, como a la comunidad la importancia de saber que es el VIH, los beneficios del
tratamiento antirretroviral y el apoyo que estos deben recibir, para así mejorar su calidad de vida.
Teniendo como objetivo principal de este proyecto el analizar los factores de abandono del
tratamiento antirretroviral en pacientes con VIH en la ESE Hospital Sagrado Corazón de Jesús
