Abstract

El advenimiento de los cultivos transgénicos desde mediados de la década de los 90 ha generado posiciones contrapuestas. Entre quienes se han manifestado en contra se encuentra una gama de sectores sociales que va desde ecologistas radicales hasta líderes religiosos, pasando por asociaciones de consumidores, algunos académicos en busca de notoriedad mediática, políticos y algún príncipe europeo, famoso por su pésimo gusto. Ejecutivos de corporaciones multinacionales, academias de ciencia, investigadores científicos del sector público y gobiernos soberanos han manifestado públicamente su apoyo al uso de organismos genéticamente modificados (OGM) en la agricultura
