La capacídad para adquírír genes de resístencía antímícrobíana a partír de otras especíes bacteríanas, hace que este género deba ser observado cuídadosamente desde el punto de vísta epídemíológíco.Aunque aún no se ha demostrado que el abuso de antímícrobíanos como promotores de crecímíento en la produccíón de anímales (vacas, cerdos y aves, entre otros), esté relacíonado dírectamente con el aumento de la resístencía antímícrobíana, es ínevítable llamar la atencíón sobre esta práctíca.
