| dc.description.abstract | La radiología es la rama de la medicina que mediante agentes físicos obtiene imágenes del cuerpo,
permitiendo el diagnóstico y tratamiento de diversas patologías, sin embargo, esta práctica se ha
extendido como un método auxiliar en el proceso judicial de delitos y en la aplicación de justicia,
la cual a través de técnicas radiológicas permite llevar a cabo la necropsia no invasiva (virtopsia)
aportando información relevante, rápida y precisa del cadáver, para determinar la manera y causa
de muerte.
Entre las aplicaciones de la radiología forense encontramos, el diagnostico de maltrato infantil, la
determinación del sexo y edad, la identificación tanto en personas como en cadáveres y la balística
forense, esta última consiste en el estudio de los tipos y características de las armas de fuego, así
como de los fenómenos físico-químicos al momento del disparo. | |
