dc.description.abstractEn las granjas porcícolas la productividad y competitividad juegan un papel muy importante para la economía del sector, es así que en el municipio de Don Matías se encuentra la Granja Monserrate cumpliendo con todos los requerimientos para poder estar certificada y poder comercializar carne con los más altos índices de calidad para consumo humano. La granja tiene como objetivo ser productora y comercializadora en la región con altos sistemas productivos porcinos, a través de la implementación de buenas practicas pecuarias; en la visita realizada se logra identificar, verificar y analizar cada uno de los procesos que se llevan a cabo dejando ver como en las practicas porcinas se cumplen con estándares de calidad que la fortalecen y la convierten en una fuente de generación empleo, producción y beneficios económicos.

dc.description.abstractenglishCurrently, in pig farms, productivity and competitiveness play a very important role for the economy of the sector, and therefore the economic growth of many rural families. The municipality of Don Matías in the department of Antioquia is characterized for being the largest swine producer in Colombia, and the Monserrate Farm is located there, which has implemented a certification in Good Livestock Practices and meets all the requirements for said certification, with it Monserrate farm can market meat with the highest quality and safety indexes for human consumption. The farm's main objective is the fattening process, under the methodology everything goes in everything goes out and it has positioned itself locally and regionally as one of the best; Likewise, it is recognized by different swine associations as one of the best pork producing and marketing farms in the region, and this has been achieved thanks to the implementation of Good Farming Practices. During the visit, it is possible to identify, verify and analyze each of the processes, actions and plans that are carried out within a certification in Good Livestock Practices, allowing the final consumer to obtain a product with quality and safety standards, thus strengthens the sector by providing consumer security and generating employment, taking care of the environment and positioning the Colombian pork sector more and more in the world.
