| dc.description.abstract | Se realiza visita en la finca “Los Ciruelos”. Ubicada en el municipio de San Jerónimo, Antioquia. En la subregión del occidente antioqueño, a diez minutos de la cabecera urbana y con una distancia aproximada de 45km de la capital de Antioquia, Medellín.
En la finca, se cuenta con una temperatura de 22°c. con vientos de 3,2km/h. una altura de 1.301 m.s.n.m. La extensión de la finca comprende 53 hectáreas, de las cuales son dedicadas para la producción 41 hectáreas y 2 hectáreas de conservación y protección de bosque y nacimiento.
En la finca, se prioriza el sistema productivo de ganadería de carne en cría y levante, contando con número de cuarenta animales distribuidas en razas Brahman rojo, Gyrholando y Holstein cebú.
La finca “Los Ciruelos”, no cuenta con certificación otorgada por el Instituto Colombiano Agropecuario (ICA) en Buenas Prácticas Pecuarias (BP), pero si se encuentra registrada ante la entidad por medio del Registro Único de Vacunación (RUV) como un predio libre de Brucelosis y Fiebre Aftosa.
En la finca, durante su visita, se realiza una lista de chequeo ICA para la certificación de buenas prácticas ganaderas, en la cual, se arroja un resultado muy positivo en el que se cumplen diversos ítems y planes requeridos, tales como: sanidad animal, identificación, bioseguridad, uso de medicamentos veterinarios, alimentación animal, saneamiento, bienestar animal, manejo de personal, entre otras.
Tradicionalmente, la finca “Los Ciruelos” se ha identificado como una finca productora ganadera, con antecedentes y costumbres que son implementadas de generación en generación; por tal motivo, los propietarios de la finca han velado por el bienestar y el amor que se debe brindar al sistema productivo, reconociendo los requerimientos y lineamientos en buenas practicas pecuarias y ganaderas, que se deben cumplir para lograr que una producción de excelente calidad y sostenible. | |
