Designing an innovative and contextual curriculum for the English Language Learning

Abstract

This Virtual Learning Object addresses some essential concepts to broaden the understanding of what an innovative and contextual curriculum means. First, you will find the description and a video with the topics of the resource. Subsequently, a contextualization of the basis of the curriculum concept in the educational field is presented. After, a mental map is shown with the main characteristics of a curriculum through the history of this concept. To give way to the presentation of the elements for the innovation of this important component of the educational process. Next, some criteria and indicators are described to provide tools to identify an innovative curriculum in an educational field for English language learning processes. Finally, the resource includes some conclusions that condense the concepts approached in the VLO. The duration of the resource is estimated to be no more than 30 minutes for its exploration.
