| dc.description.abstract | El emprendimiento social “Riohacha Recicla” aborda la gestión inadecuada de residuos
sólidos y la precarización laboral de los recicladores en Riohacha, La Guajira, afectando la
salubridad y sostenibilidad urbana. Alineado con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS)
11 y 12, propone un sistema integral de recolección y aprovechamiento para mejorar las
condiciones de los recicladores y promover la economía circular. Mediante la metodología
Design Thinking, se identificaron problemas como la falta de educación y puntos de separación,
ideándose soluciones como Puntos Verdes Comunitarios, la provisión de kits básicos de
protección para recicladores y la integración de elementos innovadores como un sistema de
trazabilidad digital básico y la compactación del material para aumentar su valor comercial.
El modelo de negocio, orientado a la autosostenibilidad mediante la venta de material
clasificado, busca formalizar a 20 recicladores e incrementar en un 15% la recuperación de
reciclables en el primer año. Su capacidad incluye procesar 72 toneladas anuales de PET y 120
de cartón, entre otros materiales. Las proyecciones financieras indican la necesidad de una
inversión inicial aproximada de $110.000.000 COP, destinada a la adecuación de un espacio
operativo funcional, la adquisición de maquinaria básica de compactación, elementos de
recolección, capital de trabajo inicial y gastos operativos de arranque. Esta inversión se ajusta a
la naturaleza del proyecto como emprendimiento social comunitario en etapa inicial y permite
garantizar su viabilidad técnica, económica y social. | |

Guajira, which affect urban public health and sustainability. Aligned with the Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs) 11 and 12, it proposes an integrated system of collection and
recovery to improve the working conditions of waste pickers and promote the circular economy.
Through the Design Thinking methodology, problems such as the lack of education and
separation points were identified, leading to the development of solutions such as Community
Green Points, the provision of basic protective kits for waste pickers, and the integration of
innovative elements such as a basic digital traceability system and material compaction to
increase its commercial value.
The business model, oriented toward self-sustainability through the sale of classified
materials, seeks to formalize 20 waste pickers and increase recyclable recovery by 15% in the
first year. Its capacity includes processing 72 tons of PET and 120 tons of cardboard annually,
among other materials. Financial projections indicate the need for an initial investment of
approximately COP 110,000,000, allocated to preparing a functional operating space, acquiring
basic compaction machinery and collection equipment, initial working capital, and startup
operating expenses. This investment is appropriate for the nature of the project as an initial-stage
