dc.description.abstract	El presente proyecto terminado tiene como base la experiencia narrada por 10 familias con hijos en condición de discapacidad de la ciudad de Ibagué, que busca desde el enfoque de investigación mixto de tipo descriptivo comprender las manifestaciones del síndrome del cuidador en las familias de niños, niñas y adolescentes que presentan discapacidad cognitiva, teniendo en cuenta que el cuidador es el encargado de mejorar la calidad de vida de la persona cuidada. El síndrome del cuidador es un tema de investigación recientemente estudiado y reconocido que se puede presentar con alteraciones físicas, mentales y emocionales en la persona que cumple con el rol de cuidador dada la poca experiencia e incremento en actividades inesperadas. A partir de ese momento, se presenta la necesidad de conocer las emociones, actitudes y comportamientos del cuidador desde su función dentro del contexto familiar. Para ello se hace el uso de técnicas e instrumentos para la recolección de información como se aprecia en la metodología planteada; la entrevista y la prueba (test) de Zarit, siendo estás herramientas fundamentales para describir desde el enfoque el fenómeno de estudio. De acuerdo con los resultados, se evidencia que la mayor parte de los participantes que ejercen el rol de cuidador presentan un nivel medio de sobrecarga y las áreas que más se ven afectadas son la labor y la social debido al tiempo que se invierte en la función de cuidar.	spa

dc.description.abstractenglish	The present finished project is based on the experience narrated by 10 families with children in the condition of disability of the city of Ibagué, who seeks from the research approach a mixture of descriptive type to the signs of the caregiver syndrome in families of children , girls and adolescents who have cognitive disabilities, taking into account that the caregiver is in charge of improving the quality of life of the person cared for. The caregiver syndrome is a recently studied and recognized research topic that can be presented in physical, mental and emotional alterations in the person who fulfills the role of caregiver with respect to little experience and unexpected activities. From that moment, we present the need to know the emotions, attitudes and behaviors of the caregiver in their function within their context. To this end, the use of techniques and instruments for the collection of information is used, as can be seen in the methodology proposed; The interview and the Zarit exam are the fundamental tools to describe the approach of the study phenomenon. According to the results, it is evident that most of the participants exercise the role of caregiver as a means of overloading and the areas that most see both work and social work and the time spent in the function take care.	spa
