In the hatchery called “La Esperanza 2”, which is located at kilometer 3 of the Espinal route, The Chorros path, Flandes (Tolima) the discarded egg for weights less than 50gr represents approximately 30% of the production that enters weekly at the Ross AP chick hatchery to be processed. Therefore it is of vital importance, consistent with the principle of poultry productivity, to determine the factors that can improve the cost / benefit ratio. Therefore, the objective of the work is to evaluate the productive behavior of chicks from the Ross AP line, from the analysis of the effect of the rearing chamber, which improves the indicators in the hatchery. For this, a longitudinal section study is carried out, which covers an analysis period from 2016 to 2019, with 758 observations, taking as independent variables the age of the breeder, the weight of the chick when entering the chamber and the time in hours that stay there; and as a response or dependent variable the weight at the exit of the rearing chamber, as well as the percentage of suitable chicks. The results showed a significant interaction of these variables and a percentage of explanation of approximately 70% regarding the weight variation when leaving the rearing chamber.
