| dc.description.abstract | El proyecto Implementación de un meliponario en la Finca Marengo de la Corporación Autónoma Regional del Alto Magdalena “CAM” del municipio de Pitalito (Huila) tuvo como finalidad la instalación, evaluación y seguimiento de dos clases de meliponas, Tetragonisca angustula (Angelitas) y Melipona eburnea (Boca de sapo). Luego de la instalación de las colmenas se desarrollaron algunas actividades de manejo y seguimiento al rendimiento de cada grupo de animales, para ello se realizó un pesaje de cada colmena en tres momentos, el primero se hizo el día de la instalación, el segundo luego de tres meses permitiendo la adaptación al nuevo ambiente, y el tercer período se desarrolló el pesaje de las colmenas con un intervalo de tiempo de 15 días (4 pesajes); se encontró que algunas colmenas presentaban un desarrollo más lento que otras, esto porque existen factores que afectan el crecimiento de la colmena tales como: la posición de las piqueras, cantidad de abejas, condiciones agroclimatológicas y tiempo de floración. Con la construcción del meliponario, se logró generar educación ambiental sobre la importancia que tiene estas especies en los Ecosistemas: así como también la importancia para el existir de la humanidad. Por parte de la CAM se brindaron charlas a los visitantes cuyo objetivo es que se sigan conservando estas importantes especies y cómo darles un manejo apropiado. Con la instalación del meliponario, se logró impactar a 43 instituciones, entre entidades educativas y gremios, con más de veinte (20) talleres educativos, según los registros de la CAM, en los que participaron de este proyecto alrededor de 4.542 personas incluidos niños, jóvenes y adultos. | |
