dc.description.abstractenglish | In the city of Ibague, Urbana area, the response of tomato cultivation chonto (solanum lycipersicum) variety Rio Grande was evaluated in two different substrates under hydroponic system, and a conventional soil substrate as a control, in total 3 substrates in order to determine the behavior of the plant in its different growth stages. For the purposes of the study a randomized complete block design (DBCA) with 1 sand treatment, 1 treatment with coconut substrate, 1 treatment with soil and 16 repetitions per treatment, in total 48 plants, the variables evaluated were: height in the different vegetative stages, diameter of the basal stem, number of bunches per plant, yield of tomatoes per plant The investigation determined that no significant differences were observed between the coconut substrate and sand substrate, thus concluding that the two substrates are functional as a mechanical support in tomato production under a hydroponic system, referring to the soil substrate if a lower yield was observed compared to the coconut and sand substrate, in terms of the different variables studied | spa |
