| spa |

dc.description.abstractenglish | The present research project based on the study of the negative effects attributable to the presence of chicks and feces of this species, type of pathogen and the affectation of these on the health of people caused by the presence of the common pigeon (Columba livia) in health of people and in the infrastructure of the facilities of the National Open and Distance University headquarters in Cartagena and the identification and application of techniques with greater efficiency for their eradication. Direct observation of the problem was made, the behavior of the Columba livia pigeon, the critical areas to intervene, which was supported with photographic shots. With the conclusions drawn from the observation and the support of the Decision-making Matrix for decision-making, it was possible to choose the three (3) techniques that were considered to provide greater efficiency for the eradication of the Columba livia pigeon. According to the evaluation obtained in the decision-making matrix, the use of Creolin as a repellent substance, the use of Can or Corozo stems (Bactris guineensis) and the use of trap nests for the capture of the pigeons. The use of tin cans or corozo (Bactris guineensis) was the one that offered greater efficiency. To the total and permanent elimination of the problem, we recommend the sealing with meshes of all the sites that are attractive for the establishment of the nests and as hosts. | spa |
